Entirely self-taught, he relishes having broad photographic interests and works in a variety of mediums. As a consequence he has no wish to be pigeonholed. His motivation comes from a desire to tackle a variety of subject matter and put his own stamp on it, whilst at the same time making it accessible to a wide viewing public. He works in both monochrome and colour, with a preference for the initial image to be captured in colour. John's presentation will include both print and digital images.

Three of the sequences are taken with a compact camera to demonstrate that the use of expensive cameras and equipment is not a prerequisite.
25 Nov - Guest Speaker - David Clapp - 'The World is your Oyster' - David writes on his web site: 'If I am not shooting landscapes and seascapes here in the UK, I am thinking about it. If it is not the UK then I travel the world as often as I can with my understanding partner Rachel, in search of historical, travel and architectural subjects. She calls photography 'geeking' and how right she is. With a head full of apertures, focal lengths and other nonsensical techno-gibberish to bore her with in airports, after early dawn shoots to coming home from the moors at 3 in the morning on a weekday to a hallway full of tripods and camera bags to trip over, surely this must be love.'
