PHOTOSHOP - with Sheila Haycox

Photoshop - fed up with people saying you should do so and so, but have no idea how - perhaps I can help you.
I have decided to do small workshops for complete beginners and for the more advanced; those of you who know the basics but would like to improve with perhaps Raw, Layers, Layer Masks, Quick Mask, Selection, Replacing Skies, Filters etc.
Beginners: I intend doing workshops either afternoon or evenings in groups of say a maximum of 5. My preference for teaching is Photoshop, at present I use CS3, but could do Elements is required.
This section would be based on Filing your images: Photoshop Preferences; Tools Palette; Cropping; Layer basics; Cloning basics; Sizing for emails. This will all depend on the level each group is at and can be adjusted as necessary.
Advanced: This would have to be tailored to suit and would probably work better in a smaller group, up to a maximum of 3. I would possibly consider a one-to-one session.
Finally: If you are interested I suggest you email me in the first instance and let me know at what level you consider yourself to be. Perhaps you could give me some idea of what you would like to learn.
It may be helpful to bring along your laptop if you have one, then you can practice on the spot, but this can be discussed. It may also be helpful if you bring along your own images, perhaps one that has been discussed at a Critique Evening as being in need of attention but you do not know how to do it.
Photoshop cannot be taught in a linear fashion, like mathematics, techniques can progress very quickly for some but don't feel daunted if you wish to take things slowly, just have a go.
Depending on how many members are interested it might be on a 'first come first served' basis, I do not want to be doing a workshop every week!
If you are interested in Sheila's proposal please email her here in the first instance.
